Visa requirements for United States citizens are administrative entry restrictions by the authorities of other states that are imposed on citizens of the United States.
As of 2025, holders of a United States passport may travel to 180 countries and territories without a travel visa, or with a visa on arrival. The United States passport ranks[Note 1] 12th in terms of travel freedom, according to the Henley Passport Index.[1] It is also ranked 9th by the Global Passport Power Rank.[2]
