Welcome to the Administrative Assistance reading room. You can request assistance from administrators for handling a variety of problems here and alert them about problems which may require special actions not normally used during regular content editing. Please be patient as administrators are often quite busy with either their own projects or trying to perform general maintenance and cleanup.

You can deal with most vandalism yourself: fix it, then warn the user. If there is repeated vandalism by one user, lots of vandalism on a single page, or vandalism from many users, tell an admin here, or in #wikibooks (say !admin to get attention).

I'm seeing a pattern of very similar behavior that may be unconstructive, and I'd like to get a clearer picture of the situation. I'm also now seeing User:~2025-29013-44, but I can see that's the same editor as the other temp account. Sorry, this should have been in Wikibooks:Reading room/Administrative Assistance but I can't edit that page so I posted here. I'm currently a sysop on viwikibooks, which is a small project. In here there's a LTA who keep creating new pages with poor quality, not following wiki standards or copyright violation (either copied completely from Wikipedia or external source) on our project, for many years and still active nowadays. Their edits are both harmful and harmless, and they have made a lot of modifications, so I don't know how to handle this case? I had to delete a bunch of copyvio and poor quality pages, but they kept recreating them afterwards. This LTA usually uses IP and rarely uses accounts, and also has been blocked many times on English Wikibooks. Known account and IP of them are Quachthanh, which got blocked indef in enwikibooks and 205.189.94.0/23. It is noteworthy that some of their IP are 205.189.94.11 (see also block log), 205.189.94.13 (block log), also got blocked many times here for vandalism and copyvio. We also have a local discussion about this case in b:vi:Wikibooks:Đề nghị xóa#A lot of pages by 205.189.94.11 and b:vi:Wikibooks:Đề nghị xóa#Đại số, but that was a long time ago and there seems to be no consensus. @Nvdtn19 I'm sorry to hear about this! It sounds challenging. Have you been able to successfully protect the pages that are continually an issue? And, are they hopping between many IPs to dodge blocks? It also seems like an edit filter could be useful for this, since it could potentially automate some of this vandalism. Hi - I wrote this page Guide to Huxley's Island years ago and it was deleted. If it doesn't belong on this site, that's fine, but I would like to retrieve the content of it. I don't see any way to do that with my current permissions. Could someone help me recover the contents of the page - whether this is by emailing it to me, posting on my talk page, temporarily undeleting the page, anything is fine. Thanks!
