Buginese (UK: /bʊɡɪˈniːz/, US: /bʊɡəˈniz/ buug-ih-NEEZ; Basa Ugi, Lontara script ᨅᨔ ᨕᨘᨁᨗ, Jawi-Serang script: بهاس بوڬيس/ بَاسَ أُوْڬِيْ, pronounced [basa.uɡi]), or simply Bugis, is an Austronesian language spoken by about 4 million people by the Buginese people mainly in the southern part of Sulawesi, Indonesia.[1]
