Alicante (/ˌælɪˈkænti/, also UK: /-t/,[4] US: /ˌælɪˈkɑːnti, ˌɑːl-, -t/;[5] Spanish: [aliˈkante]; Valencian: Alacant [alaˈkant]; officially: Alacant / Alicante) is a city and municipality in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is the capital of the province of Alicante and a historic Mediterranean port. With a population of 358,608 as of 2024, it is the 2nd-largest city in the Valencian Community and the 10th-largest in Spain.[2]
